JMC Commissioner today inspected the ongoing restoration work on water bodies across Jammu to assess progress and ensure timely execution of the project.
During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed desilting, cleaning and rejuvenation activities at multiple sites and directed the concerned teams to maintain steady pace and adhere to the planned timelines. He emphasised that restoring traditional water bodies is essential for improving groundwater recharge, strengthening urban resilience and enhancing the city’s ecological balance.
The Commissioner instructed officials to ensure proper waste removal, prevent encroachments and maintain cleanliness around the restored sites. He also called for coordinated efforts among field staff, engineers and sanitation teams to achieve visible and sustainable results.
The inspection aimed at reinforcing the civic body’s commitment to conserving natural resources and improving urban water management across Jammu.
