President Droupadi Murmu paid solemn tribute to the security personnel who laid down their lives while defending the Parliament during the 2001 terror attack. Remembering their courage and sacrifice, the President said the nation remains indebted to the brave individuals who stood firm in the face of danger and protected the country’s democratic institution.
She noted that the valour displayed by the security forces continues to inspire every citizen and reinforces India’s collective resolve to combat terrorism. The President added that the nation must always honour the memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The 2001 Parliament attack, carried out on December 13, claimed the lives of security personnel who fought valiantly to prevent the attackers from breaching the complex. Their bravery is commemorated every year as a reminder of the unwavering commitment of India’s security forces.
