J&K Holds Maiden UT-Level Security Conference

Srinagar, December 18: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday witnessed the commencement of its first-ever Union Territory-level security conference, aimed at strengthening coordination among security agencies and reviewing the overall security landscape of the region.

The high-level conference is being attended by senior officials from the civil administration, police, intelligence agencies, and various security forces. The meet marks a significant move towards adopting a unified and structured approach to address security-related challenges across the Union Territory.

Officials said detailed discussions are being held on the prevailing law and order situation, counter-terrorism operations, border management, protection of vital installations, and preparedness to deal with emerging threats.

Special emphasis is being laid on intelligence sharing, inter-agency coordination, and strengthening ground-level security mechanisms to ensure sustained peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior officers highlighted that evolving security dynamics require constant review and coordinated action, stressing that such conferences will help streamline efforts and improve response capabilities.

The conference is also expected to outline a forward-looking security roadmap, focusing on enhancing surveillance, improving community policing, and ensuring a secure environment conducive to development and public welfare across the Union Territory.

Authorities said the UT-level security conference will serve as a regular platform for assessment and strategy-building, reinforcing the collective commitment to maintaining peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir.
