High Court Winter Vacation: Jan 1–24

The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has announced that it will remain closed for the winter vacation from January 1 to January 24, 2026, both days inclusive, according to an official notification issued by Registrar General M.K. Sharma.

The notification states that the period from January 1 to January 10, 2026 will be considered a ‘No Work Period’ for the High Court. However, to address urgent matters during the remainder of the vacation period, the Chief Justice has nominated vacation judges for both the Jammu and Srinagar wings of the court.

For the Jammu wing, Justice Sanjay Parihar has been appointed as Vacation Judge from January 12 to 17, 2026, and Justice Rajesh Sekhri from January 19 to 24, 2026.

For the Srinagar wing, Justice Shahzad Azeem will serve as Vacation Judge from January 12 to 17, 2026, and Justice Mohd Yousuf Wani from January 19 to 24, 2026 to hear urgent matters.

The vacation schedule is issued in accordance with Rule 12 of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Rules, 1999 for the effective handling of urgent judicial business during the winter break.
