New Delhi: A delegation of National Conference (NC) Members of Parliament on Tuesday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to discuss a range of issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.

The NC delegation, led by senior party leaders, raised key political and administrative concerns and strongly pressed for the early restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The MPs reiterated that the demand reflects the aspirations of the people and is essential for strengthening democratic governance in the region.

During the meeting, the MPs also highlighted several public grievances, including matters related to employment opportunities, development projects, security, and the overall administrative functioning of the Union Territory. They urged the Centre to take concrete steps to address these issues and ensure inclusive development.

Sources said the NC leaders emphasized the need for greater political engagement and confidence-building measures, stating that sustained dialogue between the Centre and regional stakeholders was crucial for long-term peace and stability.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is understood to have listened to the concerns raised by the delegation and assured them that the issues would be examined. He reportedly reiterated the government’s commitment to development, peace, and the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting comes amid ongoing political discussions on the future roadmap for Jammu and Kashmir and is being viewed as part of continued engagement between the central government and regional political parties.
