New Delhi: India and Jordan have agreed to further elevate their bilateral ties with a renewed focus on boosting cooperation in trade, technology and sustainability, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
The understanding was reached during high-level discussions aimed at strengthening economic engagement and expanding collaboration in emerging sectors. Both sides underlined the need to enhance trade volumes by exploring new areas of mutual interest, including pharmaceuticals, information technology, agriculture and renewable energy.
Emphasis was also laid on technology-driven cooperation, with India highlighting its strengths in digital public infrastructure, startups and innovation. Jordan expressed interest in partnering with Indian firms in areas such as IT services, smart solutions and capacity building.
Sustainability and climate action featured prominently in the talks, with both countries agreeing to work together on renewable energy, water management and sustainable development initiatives. Jordan acknowledged India’s experience in solar energy and green technologies, while India noted Jordan’s efforts in water conservation and environmental protection.
The two sides also discussed strengthening people-to-people ties through education, tourism and cultural exchanges, noting that such engagement forms the backbone of long-term bilateral relations.
India and Jordan reaffirmed their commitment to continued dialogue and cooperation at regional and multilateral forums, stressing the importance of stability, peace and development in West Asia and beyond.
The renewed focus on trade, technology and sustainability is expected to give fresh momentum to India-Jordan relations and open up new opportunities for businesses and institutions in both countries.
