BONIYAR: At least two residential houses were completely gutted in a devastating fire incident in Boniyar, causing heavy loss to property and leaving the affected families distressed.

According to locals, the fire broke out during the night and spread rapidly, engulfing the nearby structures before it could be brought under control. Despite efforts by residents to douse the flames, the intensity of the fire led to extensive damage.

Fire and emergency services were alerted, but locals said the absence of a nearby fire station delayed the response, allowing the blaze to intensify. No loss of life was reported in the incident, though household belongings and valuables were reduced to ashes.

Following the incident, residents of the area renewed their long-pending demand for the establishment of a fire station in Boniyar. They said frequent fire incidents and the distance from existing fire service units make timely response difficult, putting lives and property at risk.

The affected families have appealed to the administration for immediate relief and compensation, while urging authorities to address the critical need for improved fire safety infrastructure in the region.
