District Admin goes tough against illegal mining in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR : The e-auctioning of new minor mineral blocks this financial year has fetched Rs 9.93 cr Revenue to Udhampur District. Further the exercise of identification of new minor minerals will continue and the District Collector has warned the leases to ensure adherence to the norms.

To combat illegal mining, Deputy Commissioner, Saloni Rai along with SSP Joginder Singh and DMO Salam Din, executed a series of raids targeting unauthorized excavation of minor minerals  in the district.

The department took stringent action by challaning  5 vehicles and seized 6 others including  02 tractors, 03 dumper and a JCB.

The Deputy Commissioner has emphasized the district’s commitment to preserve its natural resources and ensure sustainable  mining of minor minerals  as per laid norms and practices.

The DC urged  the public to report any suspicious mining activities to the dedicated District control Room and assured  that stringent action will be taken against those found violating mining regulations.
