KATHUA: As part of the ongoing SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) campaign, a plantation drive themed Green SVEEP was conducted today at Government High School Bhallar, Kathua. The initiative, aimed at raising awareness about electoral participation while promoting environmental sustainability, saw the planting of twenty tree saplings on the school premises.

The event was held under the guidance of Returning Officer – AC 66-Jasrota, Akhil Sadotra (ACD), along with Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kathua, Mangal Singh who also serves as the Nodal Officer for AC 66-Jasrota.

This unique initiative blends environmental stewardship with voter education, encouraging citizens to take responsibility for both their environment and their democratic duties. The plantation drive not only contributed to the beautification of the school but also symbolized the growth and nurturing of a vibrant democracy through active electoral participation.

The event was well-attended by local students, teachers, and community members, all of whom showed great enthusiasm in participating in the dual-purpose campaign.
