Child Helpline Udhampur organises one day awareness camp on Child rights

UDHAMPUR,:- District Child Helpline Udhampur organised an awareness programme on Child Rights and child welfare schemes here at Higher Secondary School Krimchi.

The event also spread awareness about scholarship schemes, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan along with teams of Child Welfare Committee and One Stop Center for Women.

CHL Counselor Pinky Pathania educated the children about the aim and objectives of Child Helpline and explained the procedure for availing pre-matric and post matric scholarship schemes being offered by the Social Welfare Department to the students. She also educated the participants about the evil practices in the society such as Child Marriage, Child Labour & Child Abuse etc.

Similarly, CWC member Sushma Devi acquainted the students about Juvenile Justice Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, while OSC Para-medical Babita informed the children about the women centric schemes.

Project Coordinator CHL Hari Krishan explained basic principles of child Rights and shared child helpline-1098. He motivated students to report abandoned child, missing child, runaway child, Child Marriage, Child Labour or any child in need of care and protection through 1098 and inform about the incident. He also urged students to stay away from drugs and join the campaign of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan as they are the future of the country.

At the end, meritorious and BPL students were facilitated under the BBBP scheme.
