UDHAMPUR: Rescue drive was conducted by the District Rescue Team for Child Labour/Child Marriage/Child Abuse in Udhampur under the ambit of Mission Vatsalya of Social Welfare department continued for second day in Udhampur from Jaganoo Morh to Roun Domail.
The rescue team carried out inspections at hotspot areas for child labour and child begging including Hotels, Restaurants, shops and Rehri stalls aimed at rescuing child labour and beggars.
The rescue team included Child Helpline coordinator, Counsellor CHL, CWC member, Labour Inspector, Medical Staff, Special Juvenile Police officer, case worker CHL, Outreach worker and Social worker from DCPU.
The team rescued two minors who were engaged in child labour. The rescue drive aimed at showcasing the efforts of Mission Vatsalya to safeguard child’s right and addressing the issues related to child exploitation.
The child was produced before the Child Welfare Committee for rehabilitation and provided temporary shelter at Palaash, a child care institute for boys in Udhampur.
The establishments employing underage children will face legal action under the Child Labour (Prohibition & child labour through regular rescue operations.
