Nagrota : The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps organised a six-day heart health and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation awareness campaign from 02 to 07 December 2024 at Nagrota Military Station.
The Campaign was Conducted by the 85 Field Health Organisation under the White Knight Corps, the initiative addressed the growing need for Basic Life Support and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation training to tackle rising cases of cardiac arrests. And the subject campaign began with an informative lecture, “Heart Health & Healthy Lifestyle,” emphasizing the importance of cardiovascular health through proper diet, exercise, and stress management.
The lecture highlighted how lifestyle changes can reduce heart disease risks and prevent sudden cardiac deaths. Following the lecture, hands-on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation training sessions were also conducted using high-quality mannequins. Soldiers practiced chest compressions and rescue breaths to ensure confidence in applying these life-saving techniques during emergencies. The training covered recognizing cardiac arrest symptoms and the importance of immediate response.
Over six days, approximately 250 soldiers from various units of the 16 Corps participated in the training. The initiative aimed to foster health awareness and ensure that soldiers are equipped with essential first-aid skills. By empowering personnel with Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation knowledge, the Indian Army enhances preparedness for medical emergencies in both military and civilian settings. This campaign underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to continuous health education and proactive measures. The success of this initiative highlights the importance of widespread Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation training programs to promote a healthier, more resilient force capable of safeguarding lives.
