Jammu: Additional Director General Major General Anupinder Bevli, VSM, conducted an inspection of the NCC Headquarters Jammu Group, where he reviewed the procedures and systems contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the NCC Curriculum.
During the inspection, Major General Bevli commended the focused work being undertaken by all officers, permanent instructor staff, Associate NCC officers, and civilian staff. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards and encouraged all to continue the good work to meet the aims and objectives of the NCC.
Brig PS Cheema, Commander NCC Group Jammu briefed the ADG where all Commanding Officers of NCC Units of Jammu Group were present during the inspection. Major General Bevli used this opportunity to issue early directions to all officers for giving appropriate notice to non-performing institutes which have failed to meet the commitment as per affidavit as per NCC Act, submitted during demand for raising of NCC Units in their institutes. He directed that the list of non-performing institutes which have failed to nominate ANOs/CTOs as well as those unable to fullfil the vacancies to be shared with the Department of Higher Education of the UT for appropriate directions to the Heads of the Institutes. Gen Bevli strongly emphasised that the lack of commitment of these institutes is restricting the chances of those institutes which are in the waitlist and are desperately looking for this opportunity. In addition, this contributes towards the overall position of the Directorate for the RDC Banner, he remarked.
The General officer laid emphasis on institutional training and accountability of ANOs and Permanent Instructors in maintaining quality of training.
Gen Bevli assured all support to the Group Headquarters and the Units especially the newly raised 6 J&K BN NCC and 1 J&K Air Sqn NCC at Udhampur.
