Jammu: Akshay Kumar attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic fans who waited for hours in cloudy weather just to catch a glimpse of the actor as he inaugurated a new showroom here.
Fans — including men, women, and children from both Jammu city and other parts of J&K — gathered eagerly for the actor’s arrival to open Kalyan Jewellers’ showroom at Dogra Chowk.
Kumar, whose upcoming film Jolly LLB 3 is set to release on September 19, expressed gratitude to the people of Jammu for their warm reception.
“Jai Mata Di,” he greeted upon reaching the stage, assuring the crowd that he had arrived on time and there would be no cause for complaints.
“I’m delighted to be here today for the inauguration of Kalyan Jewellers’ grand flagship showroom. It’s an honor to represent a brand rooted deeply in trust, transparency, and customer focus,” Kumar said.
He warmly responded to fans’ chants of “I love you” and echoed the phrase “Khand Meethe Log Dogre,” from the folk song ‘O Mithi Dogre Di Boli Te Khand Mithe Log Dogre’ — meaning “Sweet is the Dogri language, sweet are the Dogras.”
One fan shared with the actor that she had traveled all the way from Pune after hearing about his visit to her hometown, having missed previous chances to meet him there. Kumar apologized for not meeting her in Pune earlier.
When asked by a fan about a message for the army after Operation Sindoor, he replied, “You all know what our country is doing.”
Commenting on the new showroom, Ramesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director of Kalyan Jewellers, said, “With the launch of our new flagship showroom in Jammu, we aim to create a comprehensive ecosystem that meets the unique needs of our customers, enhancing their overall shopping experience.”
