A Screening of Documentary of 1947 War Organised at Gando Doda

Doda: In a stirring initiative to foster a deeper sense of patriotism, pride and connection with the nation, Indian Army organised a special screening of a documentary on the 1947 Indo-Pak war at Mother Dream Valley School, Gando on 30 Apr 2025.

The event was aimed at highlighting the unmatched bravery and selfless sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces while also motivating the youth of the region to consider a noble and dignified career in the Indian Army. The documentary brought to life the historic battles fought during the 1947 war particularly in the Jammu and Kashmir region. It paid homage to the courage of soldiers who laid down their lives defending the sovereignty of the nation.

The representative of Indian Army highlighted the significance of remembering the sacrifices of our soldiers and learning from the past. This initiative is not just about showing history, it is about connecting our youth to the spirit of the nation and inspiring them to contribute to its security and progress. The event also included an interactive session where Officers and Jawans shared personal stories of military life, the values of discipline and service, and the diverse opportunities available in the Indian Army. The enthusiastic participation of school children reflected a growing sense of national pride and a keen interest in serving the country.

This screening is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing outreach efforts under Operation Sadbhavana to strengthen the bond with the local population, promote awareness about the Armed Forces, and encourage unity and integration in remote and border regions. The event concluded with a standing ovation for the heroes of 1947, a rendition of the national anthem, and the distribution of motivational pamphlets on how to join Indian Army. Such initiatives reaffirm the Indian Army’s commitment not only to national security but also to nation-building by nurturing a strong and patriotic youth. Such an event also reinforces the commitment of Indian Army to stand with the youths. A total of 82 youths attended the same.
