BUDGAM: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, today inaugurated the much-awaited macadamization works on the crucial Chadoora-Brenwar road.
During the ceremony, the Speaker highlighted the Government’s commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure. “This road is a lifeline for the people of this area. Its macadamization will not only end the long-standing difficulties faced by residents but also serve as a catalyst for the overall development of the region,” he said.
He further noted that improved connectivity would create new opportunities for economic growth, enhance access to markets and healthcare facilities, and significantly improve the quality of life for the local community.
Executive Engineer, PMGSY, assured the Speaker that the macadamization work would be completed efficiently within a strict timeframe of 20 days. The 9.90-kilometer road project, estimated at ₹2.15 crores, aims to provide smooth and safe travel for commuters, farmers, and local businesses.
The macadamization of this vital road is a major step toward better connectivity and socio-economic development in the region. It is expected to ease traffic congestion, lower vehicle maintenance costs, and provide all-weather access to surrounding villages.
The inauguration was attended by local dignitaries, community leaders, and a large number of residents who have long advocated for the road’s upgradation.
