Ahmedabad: Adani Cement, in collaboration with its group associate M/s PSP Infra, has achieved a historic engineering milestone at Umiya Dham near Ahmedabad, completing the world’s largest raft foundation for a religious temple.

In a statement on Thursday, the company highlighted that this record-breaking feat demonstrates Adani Cement’s exceptional capability to integrate logistical scale, technical precision, and sustainable innovation.

The monumental operation was carried out continuously over 54 hours, using 24,100 cubic metres of ECOMaxX M45 low-carbon concrete—a proprietary sustainable mix developed by Adani Cement that sets new industry benchmarks.

The effort involved 26 strategically located Ready-Mix Concrete (RMX) plants, over 285 transit mixers, 3,600 tonnes of high-performance cement, and more than 600 skilled workers and technical experts working in shifts over three days. The operation was meticulously planned to ensure uninterrupted pouring, maintaining optimal temperature control and consistent mix quality, eliminating cold joints.

Use of ECOMaxX concrete significantly reduced the project’s carbon footprint, underscoring Adani Cement’s commitment to green construction practices.

Vinod Bahety, CEO of Adani Group’s Cement Business, said:
“Umiya Dham is poised to become an iconic spiritual landmark, spanning 60 acres with an investment of around Rs 2,000 crore. This project is more than a world record—it embodies the quality, scale, speed, and purpose that define Adani Cement. As our Chairman believes, engineering feats are bridges between devotion and modern infrastructure. The successful raft casting at Umiya Dham exemplifies this philosophy: where faith drives innovation, and innovation uplifts communities. Our ECOMaxX low-carbon concrete has enabled a 60% reduction in carbon emissions, highlighting our dedication to sustainability and excellence.”

R.P. Patel, President of Vishv Umiya Foundation, remarked:
“This world-record foundation of Jagat Janani Maa Umiya (Parvati) temple is a proud moment for India’s cultural and engineering heritage. Adani Cement’s expertise in mega-project execution made them our natural partner.”

The raft foundation, measuring 450 ft x 400 ft x 8 ft, will support 1,551 Dharma Stambhs for the upcoming 504 ft tall Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple, envisioned as the spiritual heart of a vast social and cultural campus in Jaspur.

The ECOMaxX M45 concrete mix incorporates 66% Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM), achieving a 60% reduction in carbon footprint. Its proprietary Coolcrete formulation maintained placement temperatures below 28°C, minimizing thermal stress. Embedded thermocouples continue to monitor temperature and structural durability in real time.

Witnessed by over 1,000 on-site attendees and more than 10,000 online, this achievement highlights Adani Cement’s growing role in shaping India’s engineering and spiritual landmarks.

Reinforcing a legacy of iconic projects—from the World One Tower to the Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu & Kashmir—Adani Cement now extends its expertise to spiritual infrastructure with Umiya Dham Temple. This accomplishment reflects not only the company’s technical excellence but also its commitment to sustainable development and cultural heritage.
