RAJOURI: Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Chander Prakash, today chaired a meeting in the VC Room of the DC Office to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming Diwali festival.
The ADC took a detailed review of arrangements pertaining to water and electricity supply, market checking, sanitation drives, town illumination, and cleanliness around temples and public places. He directed the concerned departments to install streetlights at dark spots and ensure proper lighting across main markets and chowks to enhance the festive atmosphere.
He also instructed officials to set up stalls only at designated areas, deploy fire tenders at three key locations, and ensure the presence of medical teams and magistrates to respond promptly to any emergency.
Emphasizing strict market checking, the ADC asked officers to curb overpricing and ensure the availability of quality products, especially sweets and other consumables during the festive period.
The meeting was attended by ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan; AD FCS&CA Rohit Kumar; Executive Engineer PHE Sudesh Gandotra; Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Kumar; AD Fire & Emergency Yusaf-ul-Umar; EO Municipality, and other district and sectoral officers. Prominent civil society members also participated and offered valuable suggestions to ensure a safe and joyful Diwali celebration.
