Advisor Wani discusses skill development of J&K youth in creative industries with IICT officials

MUMBAI: Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, held extensive interactions with leading figures from the film, entertainment, and tourism sectors on the second day of FICCI Frames in Mumbai.

The event saw the participation of several prominent personalities from the entertainment industry. The Advisor was accompanied by Joint Director Tourism Kashmir, Waseem Raja, and Joint Director Tourism Jammu, Ajaz Qaiser.

During the visit, Advisor Wani also met local tour operators from Maharashtra and held detailed discussions on promoting Jammu and Kashmir as a preferred tourism destination in the state.

In another significant engagement, the Advisor held comprehensive deliberations with senior officials of the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) to explore avenues for enhancing the creative and filmmaking skills of Kashmiri youth. The discussions focused on training opportunities in filmmaking, comics, animation, post-production, and other creative domains.

Following the Advisor’s directions, the Joint Directors of Tourism visited the IICT campus, where they interacted with the CEO and faculty to gain insights into the institute’s academic offerings and assess how these could help nurture and refine the creative potential of J&K’s youth.

These engagements are part of the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s concerted efforts to rejuvenate the tourism sector, which faced setbacks following the Pahalgam attack in April 2025.
