KISHTWAR: The Department of Animal Husbandry, Kishtwar, today hosted an awareness programme here at Nagseni block to educate the farmers about the departmental schemes and value addition of milk here under the guidance of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen.
The programme aimed to enlighten participants about the schemes offered by the department, with a specific focus on milk processing value addition.
The event witnessed active participation from a significant number of women belonging to self-help groups (SHGs), including Pashu Sakhies, besides Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
In his address, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen informed the selection of Mitras in each Panchayat and for their further training.
He enlightened the participants about the huge potential of poultry, dairy, and animal husbandry sectors, as well as other allied sectors. Dr. Sen urged the attendees, particularly the Pashu Sakhies, to embrace the latest technical knowledge and utilize the benefits offered by these sectors to generate income and achieve self-independence.
Additionally, Dr. Sen provided valuable information about the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, highlighting its significance and benefits for the farming community.
This awareness programme served as a platform for participants to gain insights into the Department of Animal Husbandry’s initiatives, with a special emphasis on milk processing value addition.
