Air Chief Marshal AP Singh visits Ladakh on Diwali, commends IAF and Army personnel for their commitment

Leh (Ladakh): On the occasion of Diwali, Air Chief Marshal and Chief of the Air Staff A.P. Singh visited the Ladakh sector on Monday and interacted with Indian Air Force (IAF) and Indian Army personnel stationed in the region.

In a post on X, the Indian Air Force stated that the Air Chief Marshal commended the dedication and professionalism of the IAF and Army personnel in safeguarding the nation’s borders under challenging high-altitude conditions. He also extended his Diwali greetings to all those serving in the sector.

“On the occasion of Diwali, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, visited the Ladakh sector and interacted with IAF and IA personnel deployed in the region. He commended them for their dedication and professionalism in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers under challenging high-altitude conditions and extended festive greetings to all,” the IAF wrote on X.

Meanwhile, Air Marshal and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff Awadhesh Kumar Bharti celebrated Diwali with troops deployed at the Siachen Glacier. He also visited Terchey village near Thoise, where he interacted with locals and conveyed his festive wishes.

Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, celebrated Diwali with Indian Army personnel at an event organised by the Fire & Fury Corps at Rinchen Auditorium. He was joined by Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 14 Corps; Major General Praveen Chhabra, GOC 72 Sub Area; Brigadier Umesh Parab; and Brigadier Ajay Katoch.

Extending Diwali greetings on behalf of the people of Ladakh, the Lt Governor praised the bravery, dedication, and courage of the Indian Army for serving in harsh conditions and guarding the nation’s borders amid extreme cold.
