New Delhi: A bomb threat was reported on Thursday for Air India’s Toronto–Delhi flight AI188, which later landed safely in the national capital, officials said.
Delhi Police received the threat message in the morning, following which the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was convened at the airport. The committee later deemed the threat “non-specific,” according to sources.

An Air India spokesperson confirmed that a security alert was issued during the flight’s cruise phase. The crew followed all standard security protocols, prioritising passenger safety. The Boeing 777 aircraft landed in Delhi around 3.40 pm, and all passengers and crew disembarked without incident. The aircraft has since been sent for mandatory security checks.

The Toronto–Delhi flight took a little over 15 hours, as per Flightradar24 data.
Airports across the country are currently enforcing heightened security measures, including compulsory secondary ladder point checks, after the November 10 blast near the Red Fort Metro station that killed 13 people and injured several others.
