Airlines across multiple regions have issued advisories warning of potential flight delays following Airbus’s urgent directive to implement software and hardware fixes on its A320 family aircraft.

The precautionary measure was ordered after Airbus identified a risk of flight-control data corruption linked to solar radiation exposure. The company has mandated immediate updates to onboard systems, requiring checks and fixes before the next flight of each affected aircraft.

Globally, approximately 6,000 A320-family jets are impacted, with airlines working to complete updates within the next two to three days. In India alone, more than 300 aircraft operated by IndiGo, Air India, and Air India Express are undergoing mandatory inspections and updates.

Airlines have cautioned passengers to expect delays and possible cancellations during the rollout of these fixes. Customers are advised to check flight status before arriving at airports. The directive is preventive in nature, ensuring continued reliability and safety of flight-control systems.

Airbus has confirmed that the issue does not compromise passenger safety, and the updates are being carried out to maintain operational resilience across its fleet.
