Amazon Unveils AI-Powered Alexa+ with New Echo Devices
Amazon has unveiled its AI-powered Alexa+, set to rival Gemini and Siri in 2026, alongside a refreshed lineup of Echo smart speakers and displays. The new Echo Dot and Echo Show models feature redesigned aesthetics, providing a modern look while enhancing the Alexa+ experience.
These are the first Amazon devices to come with Alexa+ preinstalled, with plans to roll it out to older Echo models over time. Running the AI assistant requires more processing power, which Amazon has built into the latest Echo devices.

Alexa+ AI Assistant
Alexa+ is Amazon’s premium AI assistant, designed to be more conversational, personalized, and intuitive than previous iterations. It removes the need for a wake word, allowing seamless interaction similar to next-gen AI assistants.
The subscription is priced at $19.99/month, though Prime members get free access. Alexa+ will roll out in the US first, with global availability expected soon.
