Sitamarhi (Bihar): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday criticized opposition parties for opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, asserting that individuals who have infiltrated the country “have no right to vote.”

Shah also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of “playing politics” over the ongoing SIR exercise in the state.

Speaking at a public rally in Punauradham, Sitamarhi district, Shah said, “The names of infiltrators must be removed from the voter lists. They have no right to vote. However, the RJD and Congress are opposing the revision exercise because it involves removing such names.”

Commenting on the opposition’s stance regarding Operation Sindoor, Shah alleged that terrorist incidents were more frequent during the UPA regime.
“But today’s India is different under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our forces have eliminated terrorists in their hideouts. Yet, the RJD and Congress leaders are objecting to Operation Sindoor,” he said.

Shah also expressed confidence that the NDA will return to power in the upcoming assembly elections.

He criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), claiming it did little for Bihar during its time in power.
“As a central minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav sanctioned only ₹1,132 crore for railway infrastructure in Bihar, whereas our government has allocated ₹10,066 crore for FY 2026,” Shah stated.

He further alleged that the RJD “promoted hooliganism” during its tenure in the state.
