Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that the punishment for those responsible for the Delhi blast will serve as a global warning that such attacks will not be tolerated.

Speaking via video link at the inauguration of the Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School and the Sagar Organic Plant in Boriyavi village, Mehsana district, Shah said that everyone involved in the “cowardly act” will be brought to justice and given the strictest punishment. He emphasised that the Government of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs are fully committed to this effort.

Shah also conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims. He reaffirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to ensure stringent punishment for all those behind the attack will be fulfilled.

“The punishment given to the perpetrators of the Delhi terror attack will send a message to the world that no one should dare to think of such an act in our country,” he said.

He added that under Modi’s leadership, India’s fight against terrorism has gained global recognition over the past 11 years.

The high-intensity car blast near the Red Fort on Monday evening killed at least 13 people.
