Anantnag: As part of its ongoing crackdown on unlawful activities, the Anantnag Police have attached a vehicle under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with the investigation of FIR No. 57/2024 at PS Mattan.
According to a police release, a Swift car with registration number JK03N-3237, owned by Muzakir Mohi-ud-Din Shah, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah of Takia Hugam, Srigufwara, Anantnag, has been attached under Section 25(1) of the UAPA. Muzakir is the nephew of the accused Firdous Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Hugam, Srigufwara, Anantnag.
The vehicle is connected to FIR No. 57/2024 registered at Police Station Mattan, which involves violations under Sections 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act, Sections 13, 18, and 39 of the UAPA, Section 5 of the Explosives Substances Act, and Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.
In accordance with legal provisions, the vehicle has been seized as proceeds of terrorism, and the owner is barred from selling, leasing, or transferring it until further notice.
The police reaffirm their commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring that individuals involved in or supporting unlawful activities are brought to justice.
