Anantnag, Nov 27: Police in Anantnag district carried out raids on the residences of individuals associated with the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI). Officials confirmed that the searches were conducted as part of ongoing investigations into activities linked to the proscribed organisation.

Authorities stated that the raids were aimed at gathering evidence and disrupting any attempts to revive or reorganize JeI networks in the region. Documents, electronic devices, and other materials were reportedly seized during the operations for further examination.

Security officials emphasized that the action was precautionary and investigative in nature, underscoring the government’s commitment to enforcing the ban on JeI. They added that such measures are necessary to prevent unlawful activities and safeguard peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

Police reiterated that strict enforcement against proscribed outfits will continue, with follow-up investigations expected in the coming days. The raids form part of a broader crackdown across the Valley to ensure compliance with legal restrictions on banned groups.
