BANDIPORA: The Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyaan Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) Sumbal on Saturday organized an anti-smoking campaign.
The event, held under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Shabeena Iqbal Shawl was aimed at raising awareness among the students about the harmful effects of smoking and encouraging students to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The highlight of the campaign was an enlightening lecture delivered by Prof. Manzoor Parey, who provided a comprehensive overview of the detrimental health impacts of smoking.
He emphasized the serious consequences of tobacco use, including respiratory diseases, cardiovascular issues, and the risk of cancer.
He underscored the importance of quitting smoking and adopting preventive measures to protect one’s health and well-being.
Prof. Manzoor also emphasized the heavy financial burden that tobacco use places on families because of its detrimental health effects, urging people to quit the habit.
The campaign was well-received by students and faculty members, inspiring a renewed commitment to healthy choices within the college community.
