On the professional front, Anupam Kher is preparing for his upcoming film, The Bengal Files, in which he will portray Mahatma Gandhi. The film delves into communal violence in undivided Bengal during the 1940s, covering events such as the 1946 Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots, described as a Hindu genocide.
The Bengal Files is scheduled for theatrical release on September 5, 2025.
