Srinagar, Nov 19: Apple growers across several regions are still waiting for compensation for the heavy losses they suffered due to recent weather-related damage. Growers said that despite assessments being carried out weeks ago, the relief amount has not yet been released, leaving them in financial distress during a crucial period of the season.

Farmers expressed concern that the delay is affecting their ability to prepare for the next cycle of work, including orchard maintenance and procurement of essential supplies. Many growers urged the authorities to expedite the compensation process, stressing that timely support is vital for sustaining the sector.

Officials, meanwhile, have stated that the verification process is in its final stages and assured that compensation will be disbursed soon. They added that the administration is committed to supporting growers and mitigating the impact of the losses.
