RAMBAN: The Indian Army on Tuesday organized an Ex-Servicemen Meet here at Maitra to commemorate Veterans Day and honor the service of retired personnel, their families, and Veer Naris (war widows).

The event provided a platform to veterans to reconnect, share their experiences, and reminisce about their service. Interactive sessions highlighted the camaraderie and ethos of the armed forces, with veterans sharing insights to inspire current personnel.

Stalls were set up to address the specific needs of veterans and their families, including assistance with SPARSH portal transitions, ECHS card preparation, DSP account benefits, and medical consultations by Army doctors. Additionally, the Revenue, Horticulture, Handicrafts and Handloom Department and State Bank of India showcased their services, products and promoted skill development and employment opportunities.

In a special gesture, the sacrifices of Veer Naris were acknowledged, reflecting their resilience and contributions to the nation. The event also educated veterans about welfare schemes, healthcare services, and post-retirement benefits, ensuring their continued support and well-being.

This celebration was a tribute to the Army’s legacy of sacrifice and commitment, fostering stronger bonds within the military community. By addressing grievances and creating engagement opportunities, the Army reaffirmed its gratitude and dedication to its veterans.

The Ex-Servicemen Meet underscored the values of honor, duty, and cares, ensuring the sacrifices of veterans remain a source of pride and inspiration for the Nation.
