JAMMU: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has restored two key roads damaged by recent floods and cloudbursts in Jammu, officials said.
The Gulabgarh–Chashoti road in Kishtwar district and the Purna Bahadur–Thandi Kassi road along the Line of Control (LoC) were reopened, reviving vital connectivity for thousands of residents and army units.
The 118 Road Construction Company (RCC), led by Major Jivitesh Razora, cleared a 14-km debris-strewn stretch on the Gulabgarh–Chashoti road over 13 days. “The initial days were extremely risky due to landslide threats,” a BRO official said. Locals expressed relief, saying the restoration ended nearly two weeks of isolation.
Meanwhile, the 58 RCC, under Project Sampark Chief Engineer Brig R. K. Mishra, swiftly built a 70-metre diversion to restore traffic on the Purna Bahadur–Thandi Kassi road, another critical route linking villages and army posts.
