Jammu: The Western Army Commander, Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, on Friday reviewed the operational preparedness of troops stationed in forward areas along the Jammu-Pathankot sector, officials said.
The visit by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief comes as forces gear up for the winter season to effectively tackle threats posed by terrorists operating in the higher reaches and forested areas of the Jammu region.
“Lt Gen Katiyar reviewed the readiness of troops deployed in the forward areas of Jammu, Kathua, Samba (Jammu division) and Pathankot (Punjab), ensuring they remain prepared to respond swiftly to any contingency,” the Western Command said in a post on X.

The Commander commended the professionalism of the soldiers, their integration of emerging technologies, and their steadfast commitment to maintaining the highest levels of operational excellence.
“Their determination and preparedness reflect the Army’s unwavering vigilance and strength of purpose,” he added.
