MENDHAR/JAMMU: Indian Army troops on Monday foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Poonch district, officials said.
According to sources, soldiers stationed at the border spotted a group of militants attempting to enter India from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The movement was detected near Dabbi village in the Balakote area during the early hours. Heavy gunfire was exchanged, though there were no immediate reports of casualties on either side.
The area has been fully cordoned off, and a large-scale search operation is currently underway, officials added.
