Srinagar: Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported on Monday.
The attempt was detected in the Torna area of the Uri sector, where troops observed suspicious movement near the LoC.
“The infiltrators were challenged, resulting in a brief exchange of fire. A large-scale search operation is currently underway in the area,” officials said.
No casualties have been reported so far on either side, and the Army and police have yet to release an official statement.
Earlier, on August 13, a soldier lost his life in a gunfight near the LoC in the Uri sector.
