LEH: Three soldiers were killed when an avalanche hit Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield, in Ladakh, officials reported on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Sunday at the Siachen base camp, situated at an altitude of 12,000 feet, trapping three soldiers, including two Agniveers, the officials said.

A rescue operation was promptly launched, and the bodies of the trapped soldiers were recovered.
