DODA: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Zubair Ahmed, the Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women organized an Awareness Camp on Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0 (TFYC 3.0) at Government Degree College Doda.
The nationwide Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0, launched today, aims to educate young people about the harmful effects of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free environment in educational institutions across India. The event primarily sought to empower students to safeguard their health and contribute to the overall well-being of society.
During the camp, the Sankalp Hub team conducted an engaging and informative session highlighting the severe health risks associated with tobacco consumption, including cancer, heart and lung diseases, and addiction. Resource persons emphasized that tobacco use not only damages physical health but also has emotional, social, and financial repercussions on families, ultimately threatening the nation’s future by promoting unhealthy habits among youth.
Speakers encouraged students to recognize how tobacco addiction shortens life expectancy, reduces productivity, and hinders personal growth and happiness. Participants were also motivated to pledge a commitment to remain tobacco-free and serve as youth ambassadors in promoting a healthier, tobacco-free society.
