A Bangkok court has issued an arrest warrant against Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip, the Thai media entrepreneur and co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, in connection with a fraud case. The order was passed after she failed to appear for a scheduled hearing.
Officials stated that Jakrajutatip and her company, JKN Global Group, are accused of defrauding a plastic surgeon through the sale of corporate bonds in 2023, causing losses estimated at 30 million baht (approximately USD 930,000). The court deemed her absence without prior notice as a flight risk.
The South Bangkok Civil Court has rescheduled the hearing for December 26, directing authorities to execute the arrest warrant. The case adds to the financial challenges faced by JKN Global, which entered debt rehabilitation proceedings in 2024 with liabilities exceeding 3 billion baht.
Jakrajutatip, a prominent figure in Thailand’s media industry, acquired the Miss Universe Organization in 2022, positioning herself as a global business leader. The ongoing legal proceedings, however, have drawn attention to the company’s financial stability and governance practices.
The arrest order underscores the seriousness of the charges and highlights the court’s intent to ensure accountability in high-profile corporate fraud cases.
