Banihal: Enforcement team conducts inspection of local medical shops

RAMBAN: Following directives from the District Administration, a joint inspection was carried out by the Drug Control Officer, Ramban, and local Police authorities across various areas of Banihal to monitor the misuse of psychotropic drugs and identify any unregistered chemist shops.

During the exercise, the team checked licenses and records of chemist shops, examined sales registers, and reviewed CCTV setups to ensure proper dispensing of medicines. The drive also aimed to detect and take action against medical establishments operating without the necessary permissions.

The inspection found that all chemist shops visited were operating with valid licenses and maintained proper documentation. No unlicensed medical establishments were detected, and sales records showed no signs of psychotropic drug diversion.

Officials emphasized that the joint effort by the Drug Control Department and Police is part of ongoing measures to prevent drug abuse and illicit trafficking. They reaffirmed that such inspections will continue to ensure compliance with drug regulations and protect public health and safety.
