MUMBAI: The BCCI plans to lodge a “strong protest” at the upcoming ICC meeting in November over Asian Cricket Council chief Mohsin Naqvi, who took the Asia Cup trophy after the Indian team declined to accept it from him in Dubai.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia defended the team’s stance, stating that India “cannot accept the trophy from someone who is waging a war against the country.”

India had defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final on Sunday, with Tilak Varma scoring an unbeaten 69 and earning the Player of the Match award.
