BGMI 4.0 Update: New Themes, Weapons, and Haunted Gameplay
Mobile gamers in India are finally getting the much-awaited Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 4.0 update, packed with new themes, weapons, and improved performance.
The update, called the Spooky Soiree version, introduces a haunted mansion setting, ghost-based themes, and fresh game modes—perfectly timed for Halloween. Players can now team up with a companion called Ghostie to take on eerie challenges.
One standout feature is the Prankster Ghost mode, where players continue the game even after being eliminated. In this ghost form, they gain special abilities such as deploying explosive charges, summoning shields, and tracking enemies—until their ghost energy runs out.
The weapon lineup also expands with the addition of a mortar, effective for both long- and short-range attacks, along with improved gun grip for more accurate shooting.
Beyond gameplay, BGMI 4.0 introduces new rewards and showdown modes, which will gradually roll out to all players.

- Android: 30% rollout at 6:30 AM IST, 50% at 9:30 AM IST, full release by 11:30 AM IST

The update also includes a patch addressing issues faced by iOS users. Developers recommend updating to the latest version as soon as it’s available on your device.
