Bharti Airtel shares surge nearly 3% to 52-week high after strong Q2 earnings
New Delhi: Bharti Airtel shares jumped nearly 3% on Tuesday, hitting a 52-week high after the telecom major reported more than a two-fold rise in consolidated net profit for the September quarter of FY26.
The stock surged 2.98% to a 52-week high of ₹2,135.75 on the BSE, while on the NSE it climbed 2.97% to ₹2,135.60.
On Monday, Bharti Airtel reported a consolidated net profit of ₹8,651 crore for the September quarter, compared to ₹4,153.4 crore in the same period last year. The strong performance was driven by growth in premium smartphone users and postpaid connections.
Bharti Airtel Africa also recorded a multi-fold increase in net income, reaching ₹969 crore during the quarter.
Revenue from operations grew 26% year-on-year to ₹52,145 crore, up from ₹41,473.3 crore a year earlier. In India, revenue rose 22.6% YoY to ₹38,690 crore (including its share from Indus Towers), compared to ₹31,561 crore last year, excluding the Indus Towers contribution.
On a like-for-like basis, including revenue from passive infrastructure, Airtel’s India revenue grew 11% YoY to ₹34,983.7 crore. Excluding this, domestic revenue was up 10%.
The company also outperformed rival Jio in terms of average revenue per user (ARPU) — a key industry metric. Airtel’s ARPU rose nearly 10% to ₹256 during the quarter, compared to ₹233 a year ago, while Jio reported an ARPU of ₹211.4 and revenue of ₹36,332 crore in the same period.
