Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 Halted After Set Sealed Over Environmental Violations
Ramanagara: Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 has come to an unexpected halt after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) sealed the show’s set in Bidadi, Ramanagara, citing violations of environmental and land-use regulations.
This marks the first time in the show’s 12-year history that it has been stopped midway. The long-running reality series, hosted by Kichcha Sudeep, had just entered its second week and has been filmed on the same custom-built set for several years.
According to officials, the KSPCB conducted a surprise inspection at Jollywood Studio and found that large-scale filming was being carried out without the necessary approvals. Following the inspection, contestants were escorted out of the premises, and the gates were locked.
Vel Studios and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., which manages the Bigg Boss Kannada set, was served a closure notice for violating provisions under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The order stated that the premises were operating “without valid Consent for Establishment and Consent for Operation” as required under the two acts. Copies of the closure notice have been sent to the Ramanagara District Deputy Commissioner, BESCOM Managing Director, and local electrical engineers from Ramanagara Taluk.
