Saran (Bihar): Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, taking a dig at the opposition alliance, referred to the Mahagathbandhan as “Anje, Panje, Ganje” and urged voters in Bihar to back the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Assembly elections on Thursday. He claimed that an NDA victory would create an “electric current” strong enough to wipe out the opposition from the state.
Addressing a rally in Manjhi on Monday, Gadkari highlighted the synergy between the governments at the Centre and in Bihar, calling it a “double engine” working for the state’s progress.
“Today, the governments in Delhi and Bihar are running together like a Rajdhani Express for Bihar’s development. On polling day, your only task is to wave the green flag — press the button on the arrow symbol, and such a current will strike that ‘Anje, Panje, Ganje’ will vanish,” Gadkari said.
The minister also promised rapid infrastructure development in the state, particularly in roads and highways, pledging to make them “as good as those in the United States.”
“The day is not far when Bihar’s roads will match America’s. I will build one magnificent bridge after another — there’s no difficulty in it,” he added.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Mahagathbandhan, saying the alliance had brought in “three monkeys” to campaign for them — referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Drawing a parallel with Mahatma Gandhi’s three monkeys who “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,” Yogi said, “Just like those monkeys, these leaders too are blind, deaf, and mute to the truth of Bihar’s development. Today, the INDIA bloc has brought their own three monkeys — Pappu, Tappu, and Appu. Pappu cannot speak the truth, Tappu cannot see the truth, and Appu cannot hear the truth.”
Campaigning for the first phase of Bihar’s Assembly elections ends this evening. The NDA — comprising the BJP, JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha — will face off against the Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD along with the Congress, CPI(ML), CPI, CPM, and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
In addition, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has fielded candidates across all 243 constituencies. Polling will be held on November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
