New Delhi: A bomb threat e-mail sent to a private school in outer Delhi turned out to be a hoax, with police identifying the sender as a student who wanted to skip exams, officials said on Friday.
Police said a PCR call was received at the Paschim Vihar East Police Station on Thursday after the principal of Vishal Bharti Public School reported an e-mail claiming that a bomb had been planted on the premises.
A thorough search was conducted, but no suspicious object was found, and the threat was declared a hoax.
A case was registered, and the cyber team later traced the e-mail to a juvenile.
“The student was apprehended and confessed to sending the e-mail out of fear of exams, hoping the school would declare a holiday,” an officer said.
