KISHTWAR: The district Administration Kishtwar, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav and in presence of Chief Executive Officer Kishtwar Development Authority, Inderjeet Singh Parihar, marked yet another significant milestone in promoting adventure tourism.
A group of 18 trekkers, led by the renowned mountaineering organization “Sonarpur Arohi,” was received at TRC Kishtwar and later flagged off for the challenging Brammah Valley trek.
The flag-off ceremony, held at the Tourist Reception Centre, exemplified the district’s unwavering commitment to fostering adventure tourism in Kishtwar.
The group of trekkers comprises 12 experienced adventurers and 6 dedicated support staff, including 2 local Youth from Kishtwar who recently completed the Adventure Training Course at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, Pahalgam.
Distinguished officials from various departments were present at the ceremony, further underscoring the collective support from authorities in facilitating such expeditions.
Deputy Commissioner warmly welcomed the trekkers during an interaction, encouraging them to explore the adventure tourism potential of the district. He assured them of the full support and assistance from the civil and police administration throughout their expedition.
In alignment to the district’s ongoing initiatives, Dr. Devansh Yadav urged the trekkers to promote the message of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan campaign during their journey. By amplifying this significant social cause, the trekkers can contribute to a drug-free India while immersing themselves in the natural beauty of Kishtwar.

The Brammah Valley trek, renowned for its awe-inspiring vistas, offers trekkers a mesmerizing view of four towering peaks above 6,000 meters.
During the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Kishtwar Development Authority, Inderjeet Singh Parihar shared vital insights and briefed the trekkers on important guidelines for a safe and successful expedition.
Notably, the Deputy Commissioner introduced the Trainees Youth from Kishtwar who recently completed the Adventure Training Course at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, Pahalgam. He emphasized the significance of gaining valuable experience from the experienced trekkers in the team, providing an invaluable learning opportunity for the local trainees.
Building upon the success of previous expeditions, it is important to mention that in June, three trekking expeditions were organized on the 11th, 20th, and 29th of the month.
Additionally, the district administration also facilitated the trekkers group with the holy Shree Hudh Mata Yatra-2023 on the 20th of June. These initiatives exemplify the district’s astute recognition of Kishtwar’s immense potential as an adventure tourism hub.
