BRO Assures Swift Restoration of Road Connectivity in J&K
JAMMU: Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan, PVSM, VSM, Director General of Border Roads (DGBR), today met Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo at the Civil Secretariat here. He was accompanied by Brig Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Chief Engineer Project Sampark, and Col Vishal Kumar Srivastava, Technical Secretary to DGBR.
During the meeting, Lt Gen Srinivasan briefed the Chief Secretary on the ongoing efforts by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to restore inter-divisional connectivity across Jammu & Kashmir, especially in the aftermath of the recent flood-like conditions. He stated that personnel and machinery have been mobilized on a war footing to ensure early restoration of road services across the Union Territory.



The DGBR provided updates on key road stretches under repair and shared expected timelines for reopening major arterial routes. He reaffirmed BRO’s commitment to making these vital links motorable at the earliest and assured full readiness to facilitate smooth movement of essential supplies and traffic.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo highlighted the critical importance of road connectivity for the mountainous region, noting that these roads are essential not only for transporting essential commodities but also for strategic purposes. He emphasized the urgency of the restoration work and called for intensified efforts to ensure early completion.
Praising BRO’s dedicated work despite challenging conditions, the Chief Secretary expressed confidence that the Organisation would meet public expectations by restoring vital road links promptly. He assured BRO of the civil administration’s full cooperation and support in these efforts.
