Jammu: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan lost his life in flash floods while on patrol in the Akhnoor sector on Wednesday, officials said.
The trooper, part of an operational team in the Pragwal area along the International Border, was swept away by the strong current, they added. His body was later recovered during a rescue operation.
Paying tribute, the BSF said on X, “We honor Constable Rajib Nunia, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty during operational deployment in the Akhnoor area of Jammu district. He attained martyrdom with courage, dedication, and commitment. His sacrifice will always be remembered and respected.”
The force further stated that the Director General and all ranks extend their deepest condolences to his family.
