Amritsar (Punjab): The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered two drones in separate incidents along the Punjab border, following extensive search operations near Ferozepur and Amritsar, the BSF Punjab Frontier said in a press release on Thursday.

Continuing its crackdown on rogue Pakistani drones, BSF troops added two more to their seizure list.

“An extensive search by BSF personnel led to the recovery of one DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone from a farming field near Mehdipur village in Ferozepur. In a separate operation along the Amritsar border, another DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone was recovered from fields near Havelian village,” said the BSF PRO.

These operations, the BSF stated, underscore the vigilance, advanced surveillance capabilities, and unwavering commitment of its troops in protecting India’s borders and countering drone-based smuggling attempts.

Earlier this week, BSF troops recovered an assembled quadcopter and a packet of suspected heroin in separate operations along the Punjab border.

Acting on specific intelligence, alert BSF troops launched a search near Bagarian village in Amritsar and found a damaged assembled quadcopter. In another joint operation with Punjab Police, one packet of heroin was recovered from fields near Wan village in Tarn Taran.

On Tuesday, BSF personnel also foiled multiple cross-border smuggling bids in Amritsar. Based on precise intelligence, troops recovered a pistol with a magazine wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and fitted with illuminating strips and a metallic wire loop—indicative of a drone drop—near Roranwala Khurd village.

In another operation, after detecting drone movement, BSF troops used technical countermeasures to bring down and recover a DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone near Chak Allabaksh village.

“These recoveries reflect the BSF’s sharp alertness, technological expertise, and resolute dedication to curbing cross-border smuggling and drone incursions along the Punjab frontier,” the release added.
